choco-coffee-banana-muffin!

On one of my four days off last week I baked some muffins. I really wanted to bake macarons, I had bought lots of almonds and I 'd prepared them and all, but after much struggling with the hand blender I just had to realise, that even though it could chop it into small pieces it could not make it into that fine flour that is required for macaron-making. So I had to put this idea aside and find something to do with my abnormal amount of choped almonds.

Melting butter...

"Sweets for my sweet sugar for my honey"

adding some coffee.

And now -tada! How it's colourful and pretty. :)

Cute bakingforms.

After the oven it was time to make some sort of frosting. I went bananas.

Starting with some icing sugar and a banana.

chop chop...

And then adding some yellow food colour and banana essence for an intense banana flavour.

Sunny yellow.

I left some muffins "natural", and pimped some with both frosting, bananas and extra cacao powder on the top. And of course some extra almond on the top as well!

I finish with a still life including the ginger bread house as well (not yet decorated!). :)

What do you put in your muffins?

Bisou!
