Crevettes roses

This evening I enjoyed a summery dinner with my guy: shrimps, baguettes, mayo and lemon. Served with some cold cider! The sun is shining through the window and the weather is warm and nice again. I've decided today that I am going to broaden my posts in my blog, include shopping, fashion and more. I've also been thinking for quite a while if I should start writing in my mother tongue instead, since I feel that it would make it easier to post blogs and also more personal, since most of my readers are my swedish friends and family anyways. So for my french or english-speaking friends, there maybe some updates in english still, but not the entire post. ;)

Bon Apétit and enjoy your sunday evening!

Time for a macaron

Rrrring!

The other week my guy and I ended up in the most charming shop with all kinds of funny and pretty things for your home... My boy bought me a little bag with something sweet.

La chaise longue in Montmartre.

A beautiful box from Ladurée that was given to me on my birthday by my love (filled with macarons of course). Do you see what's inside now?

A macaron of course! An egg timer macaron. Isn't it just super cute? :)

Bon Apétit ;)

Rainy dayz

The weather these last couple of days has been very unreliable, rain, sun, rain, hail (!) and some more rain. Good thing you can sit at home with a cup of coffee and something tasty from the patisserie next door... I hope the weather gets better this afternoon so I can drag myself to the gym for a Yoga class.

Salmon bagel and a glass of apple juice.

A tarte with grape fruit orange and pistachio for dessert.

I
I choosed this cake because it looked colourful and fun. Quite good, a bit heavy though. I'm saving half of it for later.

Life is what you bake it!

Inspired of this quote I made a drawing including muffins, cupcakes and macarons among others. Later that same day I turned the words into action. I was also longing to use my brand new forcing bag!

The topping on these muffins is a cream made of cream cheese, lime juice and icing sugar, I found the recipe in my macaron book, normally it's used as the filling for lime macarons. I also made little details of almond paste to add something extra. ;)

I poured frosen raspberries into my muffin batter (really wanted strawberries since it goes very well with lime, but they didn't have any in my local supermarket) I added some food colouring as well, cuz pink is pretty!

I used these new forms from IKEA, for the first time. They're a little bit taller and thinner than regular muffin forms so I figured they'd be great when you want to add some topping.

Mix the juice from half a lime with 120 gram cream cheese, 2 table spones of icing sugar and add some grated lime zest for a more intense flavour!

When the muffins were ready I sat down to work on my roses and bows... ;)

Small roses. Maybe they look more like tulips...

Jardin des plantes

Here comes a tip if you're in the mood for a trip to the zoo while in Paris - Jardin des plantes.
The parc is located in the 5th area near the Gare d'Austerlitz or Jussieau metro station. In this parc you have one of the oldest zoos in the world, created in 1794.

To enter the parc is free but if you would like to visit the zoo the ticket's around 6 euros, considering the large variety of animals you get to see it's well worth the money.

Let's have a look at some pics from when me and my bf visited the zoo a day in march!

Problem?
The crocodile moving towards the warm sand.
Sneaky little alligator with his ratatouille...

I finish it off with a little video clip I made with my cell phone:

La vi en rose

Just need to show you this pink dream I came across on my last weekend...

First, I started the day with meeting up a friend at Les Halles, to go swim. After 1000 meters we were proud of ourselves and happy. We went to meet up our boys at Rue Montorgueil for some well-deserved lunch. A spicy green curry was my choice at a nice little thai-restaurant. After that I felt completely exhausted -due to the swimming of course- so I decided to go home and get some sleep. On my way to the metro I passed several inviting chocolateries and patisseries, especially one of them was too charming not pay a visit...

I bought a lovely macaron cake with raspberries and rose water. I love the nice details, like the "water drop" on the rose petal and the gold tray its served on. ;)

Served with strong lavazza coffee with warm milk

In the evening, when I felt alert again my guy and I went to the movies, Iron Lady was our pick for the night. It was a good movie, Meryl Streep was great as always, however we both thought it would be more historical and teaching. Some more "hard facts" about what she did so to speak. There were more focus on her as a person. Aging, reminiscing and accepting the death of her husband etc. I can still recommend it though, as a drama it's good and moving, but do not expect to know a lot about the work of Margaret Thatcher after seeing it...

I'm also gonna share my breakfast from the following day. Including the paper and all! Feels like a proper sunday breakfast when you're adding the daily news paper.

Now I'm gonna defy this rainy weather and go out and buy myself a crepe!

Bon mercredi,

Bisou!

Bougies

My candle-crafts are now finished! Let's have a look...

The last time I was at IKEA I bought a couple of their scented candles, which are quite nice. They come in these glasses and with an etiquette which isn't so funny. So, here as you can see the candles are burned out, and I've washed them and I've peeled off the etiquette. Then you get this nice base to decorate!

I bought equipement for décopatch yesterday, never tried it before!

I got stripes...

It was not as easy as I had first thought to attach it around the glass. Since the shape of the glass isn't straight but tilting, I could not just simply roll the paper around the glass and -Voila! But after cutting out stripes instead I managed to nicely cover the glass.

And then it was time for the ribbon.

I bought a matching ribbon as well. Perfect to cover the edges and adding cute details at the same time.

And here's the result! Perfect for spring and easter.

Then it was time to make some use of my empty Kusmi Tea-jar.

I had stearin mass and candlewicks from Loisirs et Création, that I had bought some time ago. Now it was time to try it out. I've made candles once before, gel candles a long time ago. Unfortunately regular food colour wont colour the stearin, you'll need a special colour for colouring candles. I did add some tea(!) in my candle. I hope it will smell good and also it's a nice touch considering the jar!

This is the material I used.
