Bougies

My candle-crafts are now finished! Let's have a look...

The last time I was at IKEA I bought a couple of their scented candles, which are quite nice. They come in these glasses and with an etiquette which isn't so funny. So, here as you can see the candles are burned out, and I've washed them and I've peeled off the etiquette. Then you get this nice base to decorate!

I bought equipement for décopatch yesterday, never tried it before!

I got stripes...

It was not as easy as I had first thought to attach it around the glass. Since the shape of the glass isn't straight but tilting, I could not just simply roll the paper around the glass and -Voila! But after cutting out stripes instead I managed to nicely cover the glass.

And then it was time for the ribbon.

I bought a matching ribbon as well. Perfect to cover the edges and adding cute details at the same time.

And here's the result! Perfect for spring and easter.

Then it was time to make some use of my empty Kusmi Tea-jar.

I had stearin mass and candlewicks from Loisirs et Création, that I had bought some time ago. Now it was time to try it out. I've made candles once before, gel candles a long time ago. Unfortunately regular food colour wont colour the stearin, you'll need a special colour for colouring candles. I did add some tea(!) in my candle. I hope it will smell good and also it's a nice touch considering the jar!

This is the material I used.

Spring fever!

Today I actually got spring feelings. The sun was shining, and since a week or so the really cold temperatures are over. I put a new pretty dress on, yellow pantyhose and my fall jacket, no cap needed, did put on glows however. I was really in the mood for some Amarino-ice cream today, so before taking the metro to Cours st emilion (the shop "loisirs et création" was my main target) I had some delicious ice cream and a latte macchiato...

I have several favourites, today I had three of them, that you really shouldn't miss: Chocolate Amorino, Coffee! and Pistachio. Yummy!

At metro station Abbesses I stoped for a while to enjoy the music:

At "Loisirs et Création" I bought some stuff that I will use to decorate IKEA's plain scented candles. I'll show you in a blogpost soon! And colourful envelopes and papers as well -for pen-pals. ;)
On my way back home again the Kusmi Tea-shop caught my eye. The sales assistant was kind enough to offer me a larger bag that could fit my papers from "Loisirs et Création". I choosed a strawberry-flavoured green tea today. All of my other Kusmi teas are finished. But I have good plans on how to use the pretty tea jars...

Now, how do you like the new blog design?

I think it's lovely, Merci mon cheri for the job you did. <3

Every mile is two in winter

There's only so much a girl can wander out in the could in her search of the taxation office to annonce that she is now working in France and would like to pay her taxes as you should.
So after much walking and freezing not my but, but well my fingers off I decided to go home. Especially after a girl told me that "No I dont think there is a taxation office here you should go to..." Then I had it.

After a defeat like that the least I could do was to buy myself the most exclusive, delicious-looking pasterys I could find (also after passing this bakery shop around 3 times when searching for the right address I had sort of allready worked up an appetite)!

Now here comes the cake parade!

I got the cakes in a box with the colour of an apple.

I fell for the cute design with the colourful balls on top, looks like something for a birthday party.

Turned out it was a white chocolate bomb! The balls were fluffy and made out of white chocolate with some fluffy cream inside.

Here comes the winner of these two amazing cakes: The blackcurrants-white chocolate-viola tasting cake with a strong bold purple colour was irresistible.

I enjoyed them with a good cup of Kusmi tea -Prince Wladimir.

I couldn't finish both of them however, I got some saved in the fridge now. Maybe to be enjoyed tomorrow afternoon.

Inside was a lovely blackcurrants-cream, I even got a whole berry.

Isn't this pastery at its best? Silver-glittering details!

Yum, Yum...!

This blogpost's title, Every mile is two in winter is a quote I found online by: George Herbert. And when it's colder one should compensate with warm and comforting things, don't you agree? ;)

Pretty pretty pastel!

Today I started the day with lunching at an Italian restaurant with my guy. A well scimmed café crème and a warm soft moelleux au chocolat ended the meal perfectly.

It was freezing outside today, and I realized that I had not put enough clothes on. Despite this fact I decided to go for a walk, since the sun was shining and I was allready outside, and of course I needed make something out of my day off! I was thinking of buying myself a new pen and maybe some ingredients for muffins.

But as I walked (and my goal was Sacré-Coeur, I went by the area with all the sewing/fabric-shops. And my walk and shopping plans turned another, most pleasant direction.

I completely fell in LOVE with this fabric. Isn't it beautiful? Would be cool as a wallpaper as well. Let's take a closer look at these lovely birdies...

I also bought a quartet of pretty pastel, which I think look so cute and summery together. The prices were good as always, 10 euros for 3 meters, I must say it's a catch!

Plaid and spotted, higgledy-piggledy. ;)
I'll show you a photo with the flash on as well so you get a good feeling for the colours:

I bought some pretty ribbons as well. I was thinking I'm gonna wear them in my hair. Or maybe attach one of them on a hairclip...

You see, I bought a hairclip like this:

To be decorated!

These ice-cream-buttons were too cute to walk out on. Imagine them in the summer on a white blouse, with a plaided skirt or a pair of shorts. It will be fun and get you in the right summer-holiday-spirit!

I was thinking that these spotted buttons would be perfect to decorate a pillowcase I have not yet made. Because the fabric that I am going to use is the same as I used for our bed-curtain.

These purple glittering and sparkling buttons seemed like they could match my purple jacket pretty well, so I decided I'd change my regular plastic buttons for these more glamorous ones! ;)

I thought my jacket had 3 roads of buttons, which was incorrect, it only has two. So you'd think I have one too many beautiful buttons now, but actually I am missing one, since the jacket is double-buttoned I realized when I had changed the buttons that it would look better if I change ALL of them and not leave one side with the old plastic buttons. So my solution will be to go and by one more button like this tomorrow maybe or any day soon, so that I can get the makeover done properly. But I will show the outcome now anyways.

Regular purple jacket from H&M that I've used a lot. I think I bought it on sale even.

Let's switch 'em!

It's such an easy way to change a garment! I'm totally inspired to buy beautiful buttons and put them on a regular shirt or blouse from a low cost brand.

I hope you got inspired, and if you sure did, here are the two shops where I did my shopping today:

Bisou and good night!
